Why the U.S. and its Allies Must Stop Military Exercises in the South China Sea
This piece argues that the expansion of military exercises in the South China Sea shows an obvious push by the United States and France for an increased presence in the area. Though the United States and France may see these ships as representing democracy in Asia, they also represent terrible policy and a blunder in the Asia-Pacific by all nations supporting policies that end up destabilizing the region. To enable truly productive dialogue between nations like France, the United States, and China, these military exercises must stop.
