Symington hosts 26th Harvard China Forum
From April 7-9 2023, Symington hosted the opening ceremony of the 26th Harvard College China forum at Harvard University, and led its panel on venture capital. Founded in 1997, the Harvard College China Forum is dedicated to a constructive dialogue on the challenges, trends, and issues affecting China and the world. Aimed at engaging leaders in business, academia, and politics in a discourse that offers insights and generates ideas, the annual forum takes place every April in Boston, Massachusetts. Over a thousand delegates and nearly a hundred speakers attend the forum annually, making it the largest of its kind.
In a post commenting on the successful conclusion of the forum, Symington said that:
“ It’s an honor to have hosted both the opening and the venture capital panel. It’s the people that make up the crimson, wreathed we know as Harvard: Prof. William Hsiao’s warnings about the state of the US-China healthcare system. Andrew Shen, the reserved architect of the whole forum and his peculiar story about how lacrosse can improve US-China relations. Lu Zhang, the Stanford alumna who immigrated to the United States, and, as a Chinese girl in venture capital, went on to successfully found Fusion Fund and join the World Economic Forum. Alina Su, the beaming Harvard Medical School PhD who’s developing the future of needle-free medicine. These and many others are the people that make Harvard what it is. The memories and lessons from this experience will inspire me for years to come, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us all.”
